I’ve got to learn the concept less is more in my gym class routine, my record was 22 classes per week; however on average, my weekly class routine around 19 classes. RPM stands major in my routine, consist of 8 classes per week, 2nd high will be Body Combat, consist of 6, Body Pump 4 class, occasionally Body Step and Power Jump.
I’ve been advised by my friend that I need to cut down my cardio activities, and recently I read an article about cardio activities that really freak me out!
“The more cardio you do the less effective it becomes. If you do 20 minutes on the treadmill today at 5mph, then do 20 minutes on the treadmill next week you are burning less calories in the second session than in the first.”
“This happens because of process called 'training effect.' Your body becomes more efficient at doing cardio exercise and in turn expends less energy doing that movement. Your heart and lungs become better conditioned. This means the more cardio you do the less effective it becomes. In order to burn the same amount of calories you did last week you have to add more time or more sessions”
“Keep it progressive. In order for your cardio to continue to be effective you have to keep adding more to make up for the training effect. If you're not adding more cardio each week you are burning less calories each session.”
ssseeeiii lorrr…. isn’t it O_O when you read the above extract article??
By hook by crook I got to reduce my cardio routine, and add more Body Pump class.
Mon: Body Pump, RPM
Tue: RPM, Body Pump
Wed: RPM, Body Combat
Thu: RPM(optional), RPM, Body Pump
Fri: Body Step, Body Combat
Sat: Body Step, Body Pump, Body Combat
Sun: Power Jump (optional), RPM, Body Pump
There you go RPM drop from 8 to 6 (or 5), Body Combat drop from 6 to 3, Body Pump increase from 4 to 5 (maximum available class I can possibly attend jor!)
There was a time I not attend RPM class that I’m suppose to go, He-Who-Must-Not-be-Named’s class, but I not attend thought coz try to cut; alas he scold me! >.<
“why just now not coming RPM class? go Power Jump ar?”
“no lah”
“THEN WHY NOT COME TO MY RPM?!”
“errrr…. wanna rest mahh…”
“HMMM!!”
>.<
some more scold me in front of towel counter! T.T
I’m not sure my plan to cut my cardio work out before PBIM event is a good decision or not, but I got to do what I got to do! The article I read really freaks me out!
