It is the famous Queen of the Night aria “The vengeance of Hell boils in my heart”, from Mozart's The Magic Flute. The deranged Queen commands her daughter Pamina to slay her father, Sarastro.

Earth 1 Hour

Recently we so gaga about Earth 1 hour thingy...wanna turn of electricity for 1 hour so to speak.

So who is Figaro?

Figaro is a charactor in stage comedy in Barber of Serville & The Marriage of Figaro. Barber of Serville is prequel and The Marriage of Figaro is the sequal. Rossini compose opera for Barber of Serville while Mozart compose opera for The Marriage of Figaro

In Barber of Serville Figaro helps Count Almaviva wood and won the lovely Rosine away from her crusty old ward and would-be-husband, Dr. Bartholo. In The Marriage of Figaro, Beaumarchais continued their story. The Count has married Rosine but their marriage has gone sour because of his philandering. And.............the climax.......since I put Figaro in my middle name...I hit by luck!

1st event: get Mercedes Benz rent car. Usually only given either Nissan, Toyota or Honda.

2st event: my last 2 weeks hotel payment was charge to someone else credit card!!! muahahahhaa...

I was curious coz my last week transaction history don't have any record of trasaction. Today I go to the hotel counter to make this week payment, the staff told me its already been paid! I was like harrr??? So I ask in detail what credit card being charge, after she check then I know charges was not made on my credit card! Although already 1 week since the last transaction, there is no transaction reversal been done! The staff ask me wants to do the reversal or not? I say let's leave it that say coz if there is call for reversal trasaction, they can charge back to my cardit card coz they have my credit card information..hahaha....

But then I cannot spend the money also lah...in case the reversal transaction done, I need to pay back mah right? heheehehe....hence, that amount of money will be freezed.

You guys might wondering how much? Is around USD800!!!

Because I'm such a good boy, not buat benda yang bukan-bukan in US; God has give me a gift. Mercedes Benz C300 Sport!...muahaha...but rent punya lah...for 10 days...muahaha...but better than nothing lorr....

This baby drive damn smooth on the road, on the last trip in US I drove Nissan Altima, then Toyota Camry. Since my colleague going back to Malaysia earlier than me, I got to send him to airport and pick up a new rent car.

Me: hmm....Benz would be delicous! (I did really use the word delicous)

Then his colleague at the next counter kepo to me.

Me: ohh... (I then open up my cloak reveal the shirt that I bought in Castro).

The princess prepares to depart and the caravan resume its journey. the themes of the princess and the camel drivers are heard faintly in the distance and the market place becomes deserted.

This opera is based on Pierre Beaumarchais's comedy Le Barbier de Séville (1775), which was originally an opéra comique, or a mixture of spoken play with music. The score that I’m going to put here is about a barber. How busy he is, right from his shop until closed and he is proud to be as a barber. He's there Waiting for Me

As I drive nearer towards the building, my heart pump faster and faster, I was afraid he not there waiting for me. Alight from car, I walk with faster pace to enter the building. After entering one of the room, I put down my bag and hang my cloak.

My heart pump even faster, I cross my finger and pray.
"God, please tell me he is still there, lying there and waiting for me"

When I open the room door, my eyes wide open and alomost burst into tears with hapiness when I see him still there waiting for me!!

G String Fetish

No no..this is not about the undies G-string, I know many of you will think I’ll write about G-string undies….you all hamsap minded!. I’m talking about Bach’s Air on the G-String.
So why it was call on G-string leh? Hmm…..perhaps when the musician plays this pieces when by he only wear G-string kua….no lor…wrong jor!

The title comes from violinist Wilhelmj's late 19th century arrangement of the piece for violin and piano. By transposing the key of the piece from its original D major to C major and transposing the melody down an octave, Wilhelmj was able to play the piece on only one string of his violin, the G string. The Precious of Human Birth

Recently a blogger post his experience on commit suicide and another blogger made a comment on that. Well, I want to share my experience on the precious of human birth which is I learn from Dharma class.

Some basic fundamental about Buddhism. There are 6 realms in Buddhism, god, asura (demon), human, hungry ghost, animal and hell. So how difficult to obtain the precious human birth? Buddha gave us a simile in Balapandita Sutta – the Discourse of Foolish and Wise. The Buddha describe the suffering of the animal kingdom, giving the Simile of the One-eyed Turtle to illustrate just how difficult it is to regain human birth, once one is reborn in the animal realm.

“A man makes a hole in a log and set it adrift in the ocean. When the win comes from the eat the log drifts weatwards.. when the win blows from the west, it drifts eastward. Similarly, north winds push it to the south, and south winds push it to the north. In the ocean is a one-eyed turtle that surfaces only once every hundred years. Is it possible that the one-eyed turtle would put its head up through the hole in the log?

It would be very difficult for the one-eyed turble to meet up with the drifting log. Then the Buddha explained.

“Monks, this rare chance, this freak occurrence is possible, but for the bad man who is reborn as an animal or in hell to become a human being again is rarer and more difficult”

Human status is exceedingly rare. Once this rare chance is gone, one finds the greatest difficulty to be reborn again as human being. For a one-eyed turtle wandering in the ocean to encounter the hole in the log is possible only if the log never rots, and only if the turtle lives for a billions of years.

Human rebirth is difficult to obtain and easy to lose. So don’t you guys ever think to end your life!

I still remember on this day you left me without a word. I heard the news you left me forever from a friend through a phone call. That bloody car took you away from me forever. Hercules & Atlas

I'm sure everyone of us grow up with listening Greek Mythology, like the recent movie making Percy Jackson and the Lighting Theif.

The following piece of art work title Hercules & Atlas. I'm not going to elaborate who is Hercules and how is Atlas. Just a brief story how these 2 Greek mythology comes together.

One of the Twelve Labors of the hero Hercules was to fetch some of the golden apples which grow in Hera's garden, tended by Atlas' daughters, the Hesperides, and guarded by the dragon Ladon. Heracles went to Atlas and offered to hold up the heavens while Atlas got the apples from his daughters.

Upon his return with the apples, however, Atlas attempted to trick Heracles into carrying the sky permanently by offering to deliver the apples himself. Heracles, suspecting Atlas did not intend to return, pretended to agree to Atlas' offer, asking only that Atlas take the sky again for a few minutes so Heracles could rearrange his cloak as padding on his shoulders. When Atlas set down the apples and took the heavens upon his shoulders again, Heracles took the apples and ran away. (source - Wikepedia)

Again, this is an art post for the art work I saw when I visited de Young Art Museum in San Francisco. You'll marvel the material used. Below is the text explanations I copy from the museum.

The Spine and Tooth of Santo Guerro replicates elements from several medieval European cathedrals and is fabricated from more than two hundred deconstructed guns, as well as thousand of bullets and shot. Farrow’s use of guns and ammunition comments on the historical connection between religions intolerance and warfare – particularly during the medieval Crusades, which sanctioned the violent conquest of the Holy Land. Farrow believes that, historically, all of the world’s major religions have undermined their moral authority by claiming that “God is on our side” when waging war.

Farrow’s cathedral is transformed into a reliquary by the inclusion of a human spine in the nave and a human tooth over the transept door – both ostensibly belong to the fictitious Santo Guerro (“Saint War”). The spine, mounted for display on ta platform covered with 15th century silk, recalls that many European cathedrals were build with funds derived from the viewing of relics.

Farrow’s bone-filled reliquaries evoke the Catholics Church’s core doctrines of mortality and immortality, and thus serve as traditional “vanitas” symbols illustrating the futility of most human endeavors – even the building of great cathedrals – and the inevitability of death. However, they also suggest that it is neither religion nor the human soul that is eternal, but rather the human instinct to make war.
