Came across a good blog again, from plusmy. He wrote about don't simply believe something just because you heard it from somewhere else. It actually from a Buddist Sutra, named Kalama Sutra.
- Do not believe in anything simply because you heard.
- Do not believe in tradition because they have been handed down for many generations.
- Do not believe in anything because it it spoken and rumored by many.
- Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious book.
- Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teacher and elders
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agree with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
I think the sutra is very important for us, as sometime word can make more harm then any of the weapon especially slander.
How many of us practice all the 5 points?
May you be well and happy,
Paul
